Julian Sayin

Another big loss for Kalen DeBour and Alabama. Incoming freshman quarterback Julian Sayin has officially entered the transfer portal. He will be the 30th player to leave the Crimson Tide in the wake of Nick Saban’s retirement.

Julian Sayin As A Recruit

Sayin was the number one ranked quarterback recruit in the 2024 class according to 247Sports. He was an early enrollee at Alabama under Nick Saban. At six-foot-one, 200 pounds, the California QB had an excellent feel for the game as a high schooler.

According to 247Sports’ National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins, “Sayin has been one of the state’s top quarterbacks since his sophomore year. He’s a pure thrower and might be the most ready to step in and play early of all the signal callers in the ’24 class.”

As a senior, he led his team to a 9-1 record and threw for 2,347 yards with 24 touchdowns and only one interception. He completed 158 of his 212 pass attempts (74.5%) and took home the Elite 11 MVP award.

Where Will Julian Sayin Transfer?

Julian Sayin has been crystal balled to a school that formerly recruited him, Ohio State. The Buckeyes already landed a big-time transfer quarterback in Will Howard, but he has one year of eligibility remaining. Sayin will have a chance to take over as the starter next season, but will still have to compete with fellow 2024 recruit Air Nolan.

Alabama’s QB Room

Alabama’s QB room is still loaded despite his departure. The 2024 quarterback room will be Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, Dylan Lonergan and new transfer, via Washington, Austin Mack. Kalen DeBoer has a solid foundation at QB as he looks to rebuild the rest of the team.
