Albert Pujols has made history and has done so in historic fashion. The St. Louis Cardinals are visiting Los Angeles this weekend to take on the Dodgers. Pujols stepped to the plate in the third inning Friday night with 698 career home runs. By the time the fourth inning ended, he reached the 700 milestone.
A milestone only 3 players before him have reached. A milestone the whole world has been tracking as his farewell tour around the country transpires. Albert Pujols has hit 700 career home runs. Becoming the first person to do so by hitting number 699 and 700 in the same game.

Albert Pujols: Legendary
As he hit his 700th home run in the fourth inning and glared at it until it cleared the fence I saw him as timeless. His whole career was in my mind, I could see all the mental pictures I have of him since 1999. The highlight home runs I watched of his on a weekly basis since middle school. I am 31 now and Pujols has taken over the highlights once again, as he always has.
It has been 21 years and 5 months since Pujols hit his first home run in 2001. Since then he has consistently been at the top of the list titled “Home Run Hitters”.
With 21 home runs so far in his final season he has hit two home runs in one game twice in 2022. Things like that just add to the legend.
A Special Night in LA
Albert Pujols rounded the bases with kid like joy, and reminded us all why we love this game. The game of baseball provides special moments for players and fans to share. The crowd filled with people like me, who has watched Pujols for 21 years.
People who have emotions and memories of the game mutually loved. From being on the diamond playing or in the stands spectating. Moments like last night are few and far in between, rarely seen, yet never forgotten.
Albert Pujols per ESPN was quoted by saying, “What a special night”.
For the Cardinals, the team he was drafted by and played his first 10 seasons in the league with. In the city of Los Angeles where played the next 10 seasons before returning home to St. Louis, with the Angels for 9 seasons and the Dodgers for 1.
Albert Pujols made history with the two places he has become beloved with his family on hand to witness it.
A special night indeed, a special night, indeed.

This could not a more special season, and fare well tour to Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina.
St. Louis and baseball fans all over with remember the 2022 Cardinals, forever!
