Andre Iguodala Would Be A Good Piece For The Blazers

Andre Iguodala will be a free agent.

Now before you start to say Igoudala is old, he can still produce at a good rate as a 3 and D wing. He has been a target for the Blazers in Free Agency before and should be a target for them again.

Obviously, taking into consideration the fact that Iguodala is 37 years old and will turn 38 during the 2021-22 season, any expectations for what the former Arizona Wildcats standout can provide will have to be tempered. However, as we saw this past year in Miami, Igoudala is still capable of contributing to a winning team as he owned averages of 4.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 63 appearances for the Heat last season.

Damian Lillard wants to win a ring with the Blazers, and he wants the Blazers to be more urgent with doing so. This offseason is a perfect opportunity for the Blazers to show him that they want to build a championship team around him. It would start with getting better on the defensive end, which has been a key focus with the coaching change.

Although the Blazers need a power forward, a capable starting small forward with the caliber of Andre Iguodala would help the Blazers. He has played with elite guards already (Steph Curry and Klay Thompson), and could fit right in with Lillard and CJ McCollum (if the Blazers keep the latter).

Andre Iguodala is a former NBA champion, who knows what it takes to get to the finals. He could help lead the Blazers to the promised land.

Igoudala may not be the player that he used to be when he was with the Philadelphia 76ers, but he is known to be one of the league’s premier wing defenders and takes the task of guarding guys like Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and other great Small Forwards.

The 6-foot-6, 215-pound wing can play the shooting guard, small forward, or power forward and could really help the Blazers on the defensive side of the ball.
