The Arizona Cardinals could potentially be in the best position heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. They have three picks in the first 35. It may be a franchise-altering offseason depending on what they choose to do with Kyler Murray. Recent reports suggest that they will stick with him. It still wouldn’t be a bad idea to draft a quarterback in case if Murray gets hurt or it doesn’t work out.
Pick No. 4 – Malik Nabers – LSU WR
The Cardinals have had many great wide receivers. This year they have the potential to add another. No matter who their QB is, the Cardinals are going to need to replenish their wide receiver room with some top-tier talent. Especially, if they want to compete in the always tough NFC West. Nabers’ skillset of always being open would do wonders in Arizona and could accelerate the rebuild.
Pick No. 22 – Terrion Arnold – Alabama CB
It’s not likely that the Cardinals will land one of the top linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft. With the second first-round pick they could opt for a defensive lineman or another receiver. As of now Arnold is projected as a second/third-round pick, but he could improve his draft stock at the combine. The Cardinals need some help in the secondary and Arnold is a selection that the fans would love. Though, they probably shouldn’t reach for him.
Pick No. 35 – Michael Penix Jr. – Washington QB
There’s no guarantee that Murray can stay healthy. If he can’t they’re going to want a QB who they can trust to lead their offense. Penix Jr is him. The things that he’s done with the Huskies this season have been nothing short of amazing. He can make explosive plays in the passing game. With Penix and Nabers, it would be a high-powered combination.
Pick No. 65 – Cooper Beebe – Kansas State Guard (via trade with Panthers)
An offensive lineman that many Cards fans are hoping to get. They wouldn’t have to worry about using an early pick to get him either. Beebe was one of the best blockers in all of college football in 2024. He’ll be versatile for the Cardinals as he has experience playing anywhere on the line except center.
*The Trade has not happened, is it projected*
Pick No. 66 – Tyleik Williams – Ohio State DT
One of the Cardinals’ biggest needs happens to be on the defensive side of the ball. After not selecting one with their first four picks, Williams would be a great selection here. He projects to be a freak of nature at the next level. He has been phenomenal for three years. In his freshman season, he recorded five sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. This year, he recorded three sacks and 54 total tackles.
Pick No. 69 – Blake Corum – Michigan RB
Cardinals fans have been calling for the front office to draft Corum for two years. They have James Conner but could use some depth behind him. Michael Carter didn’t work out. Corum was a fringe Heisman candidate in 2022 and reached new heights in 2023. Through the Rose Bowl, Corum amassed 237 carries for 1,111 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Pick No. 104 – Braden Fiske – Florida State DT
Adding another force on the defensive line wouldn’t be a bad option. The Cardinals need some help on the defensive line. They could draft two defensive tackles or one at tackle and one on the end. Fiske could be a game-changer. He made an impact for Florida State in 2023 with three sacks and 4.5 TFLs through the regular season. He had saved his best for last and doubled his totals in a dominant ACC Championship.
Pick No. 221 – Darius Muasau – UCLA LB
The final season at UCLA came full circle for Muasau. At 6-foot-1, 230 pounds the Cardinals could move him to the defensive end. His ability to read the quarterback has helped him in college and could do the same in the NFL. In 2023 he recorded 75 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, four sacks and one interception.
Pick No. 222 – Jarrian Jones – Florida State CB
With their final pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cardinals could back to the secondary. Jones recorded three interceptions, five tackles for loss and one sack in 2023.
