Arizona State Vs Stanford Preview

Stanford and No. 22 Arizona State will square off in a Pac-12 showdown on Friday night. The Stanford Cardinal (3-2) is coming off the biggest win of their season, beating No. 8 Oregon 31-24 in overtime. The Sun Devils (4-1) beat UCLA 42-23 in Week 5 while on the road. Arizona State has won two games in a row and has its eyes set on its third.

Date: Friday, Oct. 8th | Time: 10:30 PM ET
Location: Sun Devil Stadium (Tempe, AZ)

These Arizona State Sun Devils are currently the only other Pac12 team in the top 25 besides #8 Oregon.

HOW ARIZONA STATE WILL WIN?

Jayden Daniels is catching his stride and will need to continue that if they want to beat Stanford. Early in the year, he has not been a touchdown producer for the Sun Devils but he will get them in scoring position. He can be accurate and is also looking to have a similar completion percentage to what he had against UCLA, if not better.

They are good at making explosive plays and will need many of those to score against this defense.

The biggest thing Arizona State needs to win this game is to stop Tanner McKee, as well as run the ball hard up the middle.

HOW STANFORD WILL WIN?

The Cardinal defense showed how dominant it can be when they upset the University of Oregon. Not only that, but McKee has been one of the best quarterbacks this season. McKee has thrown for 1,093 yards and 11 touchdowns, but no interceptions.

The biggest thing for Stanford will be stopping the run game of ASU.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Stanford and Arizona State will have to play their best games of the year. This game will be one of the best games the Pac-12 has seen all season.

My prediction: Stanford wins 24 to 21.
