Georgia continues its match to be number one in the country. Georgia won 37 to 0 against Arkansas. This time, Arkansas was the team that was standing in their way. Georgia’s second-ranked opponent all year, and Arkansas is a much better team than the first. Georgia was the better team, and the score and stats showed that.
Arkansas Shows A Struggling Offense
Arkansas came into this game as a team that you would have thought would compete with Georgia. They looked like they were lost and had no chance of doing anything the whole game. Arkansas’s offense only had two drives that were more than three plays. The first drive that was more than three plays ended in a missed field goal, and the other drive was the last plays of the game. That made it hard for the offense to have many yards. They only had 162 total yards, 87 yards were passing, and 75 yards were rushing. It was the first game that KJ Jefferson had less than 100 passing yards. Arkansas just did not seem like they could figure out what they wanted to do during the game.
Georgia Has An Amazing Rushing Game
JT Daniels was out during this game, and Stenton Bennett was starting. With this loss, Georgia changed their game plan. They rushed the ball 56 times during this game for 273 yards. They had 345 total yards, and 72 of them were passing. Georgia had the only offensive touchdowns that were scored during the game. Zamir White had two of the three rushing touchdowns and 68 yards. Georgia did block a punt in the endzone for a touchdown which added to their total.
Final Thoughts
Georgia is making a enormous case on why they should be ranked number one in the nation. They looked like a team that could handle anyone that gets in their way. Georgia can outscore teams, but their defense also holds the team to few yards. In addition, this game was the two-game in a row that they did not allow a score. Arkansas did not look like the team that we are all used to seeing. They could barely get a drive going, and when they got the football they could not move it. Arkansas needed this win if they wanted to be in the College Football Playoff conversation. We show many things from both teams and a lot more bad from Arkansas.
