Can Sean Dyche deploy a tactical scheme to limit Arsenal’s threat or will Mikel Arteta and his team be too much for them to contain
Here are the positives and negatives from Arsenal’s performance against Everton.
Positives
Trossard
Leandro Trossard has settled into his new home. After a solid outing at the King Power Stadium, he continued his good run of form with another quality performance. His link play was superb and pressing were superb and he topped it off with a goal.
Silky Saka
Bukayo Saka has once again shown why he’s so valuable and influential to this Arsenal side. He marries his passion with quality every time he steps onto the pitch.
Saliba and Gabriel
They’re only strengthening their claim as the best centre-back partnership in Europe. Their strengths complement eachother’s weaknesses and they perform at a high level each game. Additionally, Saliba has recovered his pre World Cup form.
Jorginho
Many Arsenal fans formed preconceived opinions on the Italian before he even kicked a ball for his new team. They claimed that he’s too slow for their system and wouldn’t be able to competently recover on defensive transitions. It’s safe to say that Arteta and his analytics team have got this transfer spot on and he’s a big part of Arsenal’s recent victories.
Five Points Clear at the Top
Both City and Arsenal have played 25 matches and Arsenal are five points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s men. Thirteen more games remain for both to play and an exhilarating title race awaits all football fans around the globe.
Negatives
Sloppy in possession
Unlike the Arsenal that everyone knows this season, they were very poor in possession. Particularly in the opening 30 minutes. Everton had good opportunities on the counter attack due to misplaced passes or lack of quality in the final third.
