Balester’s Week Eight CFB Rankings

Week Eight
Randy Sartin / USA Today

Through seven weeks, we’ve had plenty of surprises this season. Some teams have flourished while others have regressed. I’ve supported Hendon Hooker for the past two seasons now as a first round NFL draft prospect. So, it’s not surprising that Tennessee beat Alabama. What is surprising is seeing the success of Syracuse, TCU, and Illinois. No one had these three schools as top 25 teams, yet Syracuse is 6-0 after a win against NC State. TCU is 6-0 after an Overtime win against Oklahoma State. Illinois is 6-1 after a twelve-point win against an experienced Minnesota team. Week 8 will give us even more shocking results.
