The college basketball season is right around the corner so let’s take a look at one of the best conferences in basketball. Let’s take a look at some Big 12 Basketball predictions!

Conference Champion

Kansas Jayhawks: Kansas has dominate the big 12 for the last 15 years. The had won the conference 14 straight years up until 2019. This year’s Jayhawk team is loaded. They got arguably the best transfer in the country in point guard Remy Martin. Kansas also return four other starters from last year in shooting guard Christian Braun, small forward Ochai Agbaji, power forward Jalen Wilson, and center David McCormack. They also added Drake transfer Joseph Yosefu through the transfer portal. Freshmen Dajuan Harris and Bobby Pettiford should also make an impact. The Jayhawks are the team to beat in the Big 12 this season.

Other Contenders

Texas Longhorns: New head coach Chris Beard got to work revamping this roster right away in the offseason. Beard signed arguably the best available transfer Marcus Carr from Minnesota who will run point guard for the Longhorns. Beard also got guards Andrew Jones and Courtney Ramey to return for the 21-22 season. Other notable additions include transfers Devin Askew from Kentucky, Timmy Allen from Utah, and Tre Mitchell from Massachusetts. There is no doubt this team has the talent to win the big 12 this season.

Baylor Bears: The 2020-2021 national champions will be right back in the thick of things in the big 12 this season. Although they lost a lot from their championship team last season, this team will compete for the big 12 championship once again. Five star Kendall Brown will make a huge impact for Baylor right away. Adam Flagler and Matthew Mayer are also returning and were key contributors on last year’s national championship team. Baylor will be a pain to play and will contend for the big 12 crown.

Coach of the Year

Chris Beard: Chris Beard burned every bridge at Texas Tech when he left for the head coaching job at Texas. That isn’t going to matter to him at the end of the year when Texas is one of the best team’s in the conference and in the nation. Chris Beard did a tremendous job constructing this Texas roster in the offseason and he should lead them to a great season. Beard is very likely to end the season with the Big 12 coach of the year award.

Player of the Year

Remy Martin: Remy Martin is one of the best transfers n the country, and he landed in the almost perfect situation with Kansas. Remy had always been an elite player at Arizona State but he never had enough talent or coaching around him to succeed. He now has a that at KU and he should be able to fill up the stat sheet this season. Expect Kansas to be one of the best teams in the country, and Remy will be the main reason why.
