After a long wait the NFL is back, and they gave us a potential Super Bowl matchup for the first game of the year. This game is Bills vs Rams, and the Bills come in at two and a half point favorites. There is so much to be seen Thursday Night Football. This will be a fun game of who will take the NFLs first win of season in Bills vs Rams.
Before getting into the preview for the Bills vs Rams, the two announcers of the game will be a new tandem. It sees a legend in Al Michaels, partnering up with one of the best from college football in Kirk Herbstreit. This combo could become one of if not the top announcing groups in all of the NFL.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills come in as the favorites, and it’s no surprise as they are one of the teams many predict to win it all. Even in an interview, the Rams coach Sean McVay praised the Bills for how deep they were all over. The Bills bring back a lot of the players from last year, and even got a big signing in Von Miller to help out the D. This is also a homecoming for Von, who just won a Super Bowl with the Rams last season
The biggest downfall of the Bills this year could be the hype. Their biggest thing this year will be not listening to all the outside noise, and getting through the season healthy.
The Bills have talent all over the field, they are deep on every aspect of the ball. They even have a guy who can sling it all over the yard. The big factor in the game will be the defense of the Bills. They have shown to be menacing, but also that they can be gutted and picked apart. Stafford is known to turnover the ball, so the Bills have to be ready to act. Stealing a possession or two this way might be all they need to be the reigning champs.
When it comes to the offense, the Bills just have to be able to overcome the Rams Defense. The Rams defense is one of the best in the NFL, and 99 on the defensive line is a game wrecker. If the Bills can be steady on offense and limit turnovers, then they should be able to do good against this defense. There are stars all over both sides of the ball.
Los Angeles Rams
It almost seems disrespectful for the reigning champs to be underdogs at home, but that is where they find themselves. A lot of the same guys are back, minus some pieces like OBJ or Vonn Miller. Allen Robinson comes in to take off where OBJ was, as Bobby Wagner comes in for Von. Overall, this team could have the potential of sneaking their way back to the Super Bowl.
When it comes to the Defense, they are one of the best groups out there. They will need a good pass rush out of their front, as that is the Bills strength. When it comes to the run game, the Rams should be able to handle the backs, but Josh Allen might get loose on them. The Bills have some Studs and wide receivers and tight ends. The best bet for the Rams is to keep Josh Allen away from his receivers, or they could wreck some havoc.
As for the O, they might be missing OBJ but they still have some dudes on that side of the ball. Kupp looks to improve on the amazing season he had last year. Stafford looks to be just as good minus a few interceptions. They also get both their running backs to start out the year. When it comes to how the Rams can win, it has to be with more than just Kupp. Cooper Kupp can have a good game, but the Rams need a full team effort on offense from every position to beat the Bills.
What a game to kick off another beautiful Football season.
