
As of right now, the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins lead in their leagues. Although, both are still early on in their season and anything can happen but both teams were off to a hot start.
Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins lead the National Hockey League with a record of 28-4-3. Earlier this season the Bruins broke a record for most consecutive home wins to begin a single season. In addition, they went on a seven-game winning streak two separate times this season. David Pastrnak leads the Bruins in points, goals, and assists. So far this season, Pastrnak had 48 points, 24 assists, and 24 goals.
The New Jersey Devils were off to a really hot start this season as well. They went on a 13-game winning streak and even knocked Boston out of first place a few times. However, the Devils have slowed down on their winning and are now sixth in the league and 13 points behind the Boston Bruins.
Furthermore, the Bruins have 59 total points. They have a home record of 18-0-2 and a road record of 10-4-1. The closest team to them is the Carolina Hurricanes and they are seven points behind. After tonight’s win against the New Jersey Devils, they look to add to their league lead on Monday when they play the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Winter Classic.
Celtics Lead the NBA
Along with the Bruins, the Boston Celtics lead the NBA, They have a record of 25-10 with 11-5 on the road and 14-5 at home. Last season, the Boston Celtics beat the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, and Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs. They went on to lose the NBA finals in six to the Golden State Warriors. Thereafter, last season’s head coach Ime Udoka was suspended. It was revealed that Udoka had an “improper consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff.” The suspension will run through until June of 2023 but the Celtics won’t rehire Udoka.
Under Ime Udoka, the Celtics were able to go to their first NBA finals since 2010. Nevertheless, Joe Mazzulla is the interim head coach this season. Mazzulla is 34 years old and was the assistant head coach in the 2019-20 season. Star player Jayson Tatum leads the Celtics in points (31.1) and rebounds (8.1). Marcus Smart leads in assists with 7.3.
The Boston Celtics rotation is full of depth Jayson Tatum went out. with an ankle injury and the team was able to win without him despite him being a key player.
