Jeff Brohm is basically all set to sign a deal to head back home to Louisville. This news was just released, so it is unknown on if he will coach the Bowl game Purdue has against LSU. Brohm’s contract with the Cardinals is rumored to be for six years and worth roughly $35 million.
A Homecoming for Brohm
Brohm started at quarterback for Trinity High School in Louisville in the 1980s. He won the Kentucky Mr. Football Award as a senior in 1988 while leading the Shamrocks to a state championship and undefeated season. Brohm went on to star at quarterback for Louisville from 1989-1993 as a three-year starter. Brohm was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player during both his junior and senior seasons. His number 11 became part of the Louisville Ring of Honor in 2006.
This deal will now see him coach at his alma mater. With the work he has done with Purdue, Louisville will be looking to get back on track after a mediocre 7-5 year. At Purdue, he put together a decent resume. In six seasons with the Boilermakers, Brohm has a 36-34 overall record which includes a 26-25 mark in the Big Ten. The 2022 campaign marks Purdue’s fourth bowl appearance with Brohm at the helm, and the team will have a chance to play for back-to-back nine-win seasons for the first time since 1997 and 1998. Purdue also played for its first BIG 10 title this year. This homecoming for Brohm is expected to bring a lot of buzz for Louisville.
