After being cleared to play in late November, James did not find himself a clear-cut role for the Trojans.
James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in his only season with USC. To put the cherry on top, he shot 36.6% from the field and 26.7% from a distance.
Professional scouts all over the world were immediately writing him off. To a certain extent, they had every reason to. At first glance, James is a 6-foot-1 guard who appears to have an inconsistent jump shot and is unable to impact the game offensively.
However, NBA teams should examine James’ tangibles and consider his ceiling if he lives up to his potential.

When analyzing the film, it becomes evident that Bronny James’ potential is through the roof. He possesses some of the quickest feet in the draft and takes pride in his defense, significantly impacting the game. While Bronny James may have some offensive shortcomings, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic. He demonstrated his ability to score and rebound in his combine scrimmages, posting 17 points and five rebounds in 42 minutes. Despite a 33% shooting percentage, his ball handling and ability to navigate through traffic were visible.
Given the platform to sharpen his skills in the G-League, James has the capacity to blossom into a star in the near future. His impressive 40.5-inch max vertical is a clear testament to his defensive capabilities. His offensive game is poised to flourish under the tutelage of NBA coaches and trainers. While it may necessitate some patience, he is a project that is undeniably worth the investment.
