The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play their division rival the Atlanta Falcons this week in Atlanta. Division rivalry games always have consequences no matter what. The Bucs are sitting pretty in the NFC South with a record of 8-3. The Falcons are in second place at 5-6. Regardless of who wins, the Bucs will still be in first place in the division. Division rivalries are always tough games because the two teams playing know each other well, and play twice a year. The Bucs and the Falcons played earlier in the season in Week 2. The Bucs cruised to victory, and won 48-25.
Buccaneers VS Falcons Keys to the Game
This week the Buccaneers travel to a hostile Atlanta environment, so the game will be more challenging this time around. The Bucs struggle on the road. All three of their losses came in away games, but the Bucs are fresh off a big win on the road against the Colts. The Bucs also enter the game with a two-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Falcons beat the Jaguars, the worst team in the AFC. Before that the Falcons were shut out by the Patriots and destroyed by the Cowboys. Now they face a Bucs team who seems to be getting over their midseason slump.
Last week the Bucs defense stole the show by forcing five turnovers against the Colts. The offense was more stagnant than normal, but Leonard Fournette rushed for a career high of four touchdowns, and one hundred rushing yards. In their first game against the Falcons, Tom Brady threw five touchdowns, and had one of his best games of the season. The defense also had two pick 6’s. Both were by Mike Edwards, who will not be playing this week due to a three game suspension.
Throughout Tom Brady’s illustrious career, he is 9-0 all time against the Falcons. He can make it 10-0 with a win this Sunday. The Bucs enter the game as a 10.5 point favorite, with a 79.3% chance at winning, according to ESPN’s FPI. The game is this Sunday at 1 p.m. EST on Fox.
