The Bruins have locked up Charlie McAvoy for a long time. McAvoy has agreed to an eight year extension with a $9.5 million annual average. He will also be getting $26.5 million in signing bonuses. More can be found in the tweet below.
McAvoy has become the top defenseman in Boston and viewed as many as someone the team had to lock up before he had the chance to test free agency. Hs has been a staple on the top defense pairing for the Bruins, and now he will be the top backend man in Boston for a long time. We will keep monitoring the story and update it when we can.
