In a match last Friday, 12/8, Charlotte Flair appeared to have suffered a knee injury. At one point, she was spotted yelling “my knee” at Referee Charles Robinson. For a full week we have been waiting for any sort of announcement or diagnosis.
WWE announced during the most recent episode of Friday Night Smackdown that she would indeed miss some time. It’s not part of a storyline and is a real injury. Charlotte Flair has been Ironwoman for the nine years with the company. During that time, she has been on the main roster and never missed an extended amount of time.
The timing couldn’t be any worse. The holidays are almost here and the WWE is gearing up for Royal Rumble. After that, the road to Wrestlemania. Flair, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, was undoubtedly going to be part of her both in some capacity.
She has built a legacy for herself over the years as one of the top female talents in the WWE. She’s helped take the female locker room to new heights. The 15-time women’s champion has competed in many firsts. Including, the first women hell in a cell. The WWE will certainly have to pivot on any and all storylines that they had planned for Charlotte.
She’s set to have surgery on what could be a potential ACL tear. We wish her all the best and a speedy recovery.
