The Cleveland Browns’ playoff chances are slowly slipping away. In this article by Alex Einess, Cleveland was one of 13 teams still competing for the seven AFC playoff berths.

Furthermore, this ESPN piece detailed who all is present in the hunt for a spot as a division champion or a wild card.

Unfortunately for the Browns and their fans, their hopes took a major hit on Christmas day. As of this point, ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Cleveland an 11% chance to make the postseason.

The Browns sit at 7-8, but are not totally out of the running in the AFC North.

Hope remains alive on Sunday as three of five teams ahead of Cleveland all lost. To clarify, the Ravens fell to the Bengals. The LA Chargers were defeated by the Houston Texans. Pittsburgh got beat by Kansas City.

On the other hand, the Las Vegas Raiders got a win against the Denver Broncos. Also, the Buffalo Bills ran away with a double-digit victory over the New England Patriots.

At this point, the only possible way that Cleveland can make the playoffs is through winning the AFC North. While the Bengals beating the Ravens did help, the Browns still need a major amount of assistance.

The Browns’ next game is on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. The match-up will be present on ESPN, and kick-off will be at 8:15 PM.

After that, Cleveland will host Cincinnati on Jan. 9.
