The Cleveland Cavaliers’ potential trade scenarios could elevate a team on the verge of title contention. In reality, at 17-11, the Cavs have made night and day strides since the trade for Donovan Mitchell. Micthell seems to be the missing piece to help move the needle for this team. However, some role players and or veteran help is needed for this Cavs team to be more sustainable going forward. Some of these trades will definitely help the Cleveland Cavaliers achieve that.
Cleveland Cavaliers Get Jae Crowder
Crowder has been the main focus of trade discussions since the beginning of the season. He and the Phoenix Suns agreed that before training camp he would stay away from the team until a deal is consummated. There hasn’t been any movement on the trade market but there are several teams interested. The Cleveland Cavaliers would send a combination of Isaac Okoro, Dean Wade, Cedi Osman, and possibly Dylan Wyndler. The Cavaliers would be adding a veteran presence to help a young roster. As well he is the three and D wing player Cleveland covets.
Cleveland Cavaliers Get Bojan Bogdanovic
The Cleveland Cavaliers can potentially move three or four players in a trade that would get them Bogdanovic. As a matter of fact, those players would be a combination of Cedi Osman, Isaac Okoro, and Lamar Stevens. This move would get the Cavaliers a wing that shoots threes and can add a new wrinkle to the offense. He would be the sharpshooter that this team could utilize. Pairing his shooting ability with the Cavaliers’ top-ranked pick-n-roll play would make this offense deadly. Above all, this move would not be a long-term move, helps this team that’s in win-now mode. Cleveland is in contender territory and this would help them go all in for this season and maybe next. From those trade scenarios, Okoro is the most realistic and that is who the pistons have been solely interested in.
Cleveland Cavaliers Get Saddiq Bey
Cleveland adding Bey to its roster would be a move for upside and an upgrade defensively at the wing position. Adding Bey could take the Cleveland Cavaliers’ defense to extreme heights. Other moves would help this team’s offense move forward, however, adding Bey would recommit to championship-level defense. Cleveland would send Dean Wade a 2023 second-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick. Bey is a very good defender but his three-point shooting is subpar. He could add to the defense already with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. In addition, to the defense, this move would allow Caris Levert to move to the bench. Moving him would help the Cavaliers’ bench and make the room for a much-needed wing player. The Pistons would want to move Bey because he doesn’t fit with Cade Cunningham and the future of the Pistons organization.
Cleveland Cavaliers Overview
The Cleveland Cavaliers have made a jump from NBA upcoming team to NBA contenders status. This team is currently 17-11, with the NBA’s best home record at 12-2. Above all comes the road record, which they are currently 5-9 on the road. If this team would like to achieve its long-term goal of winning an NBA championship adding some of these players would help them in achieving that. Adding new wrinkles and new elements to this team offensively and defensively can set them apart and really put them in the upper echelon of the NBA.
