Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Cody Fajardo is playing lights out football so far. In three games, Cody Fajardo is 75/95 for 773 yards and four touchdowns. He has also added 21 rushes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Not bad for a 29 year old QB. The Roughriders will get the next week off. He started slow against the Ottawa Redblacks in week three, but finished the game 30/35 for 321 yards, and nine carries for 47 yards and a touchdown.

His Other Statlines so Far

In week one against the British- Colombia Lions, Fajardo finished 28/35 for 230 yards, two touchdowns and one pick. He also added five rushes for 26 yards. Week two against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats brought more success with 17/25 passing for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and seven more rushes for 66 yards and another touchdown. He is certainly a hot fantasy commodity. Yes, there is CFL fantasy.

How They Are Doing It

It’s a complete offense. The Roughriders can air it out with a great QB and pass catching group, the run game has been strong so far, and because of it play action and bootlegs are working well. They even busted out the triple eye formation against Ottawa. Everyone is getting involved as Saskatchewan is the last undefeated team in the CFL, and the defense is also adding to the cause. 2013 was the last time the Roughriders won it all. If they keep up this pace, the Grey Cup will be back in no time.

The league did not play in 2020, but in 2019 the Roughriders came one game short of the Grey Cup championship game with a loss to the eventual champions, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The team is looking like a contender again and has already made plenty of noise.
