College Football Playoff rankings week three, as there were a lot of big games this week. Also, Which teams rose to the occasion and which teams folded. Furthermore, there were a lot of big games this week and a lot of games went down to the wire. As one of the big games, the weekend Florida vs Alabama Florida proved they belonged in the playoff conversation, as Texas A&M and Oregon also made strong cases. These are my playoff top 10 for this week as some teams made a big jump and some fell, but also some proved why they deserved to be up there.
College Football Playoff Rankings – Top 4
- 1. Alabama– The tide have the number one spot again this week, and I know there could be some debate this week. As Alabama to me proved that they could be beat as they survived in the swamp, but they got the job done. Also as we all know in a SEC game on the road in an environment like the swamp. Also it’s always hard to get a road win. Considering how Dan Mullen has changed the culture down the swamp compared to the years before he got there. So to me even though Alabama struggled its still not enough to take them off the top spot.
- 2. Georgia – Number two in the rankings shouldn’t be any surprise. As Georgia has not looked any like they are ready to slow down any this year yet, as they have a balanced offense and a good defense. They played South Carolina this weekend and got a convincing win as the looked really well on offense and defense, but they haven’t got to the tough part of their schedule yet. As they still have to play Arkansas at home week 5, Auburn away week 6, Kentucky at home week 7, and Florida in Jacksonville week 9.
- 3. Oklahoma– Oklahoma looked shaky again this week as they escaped with a narrow win against Nebraska. Also Scott Frost had his boys ready to play yesterday tough as it was the best game I had seen Nebraska play in a long time. Spencer Rattler really didn’t have a bad game but Oklahoma really just keep letting Nebraska hang around as it almost came back to bit them. But even with them struggling I don’t think you can move them from the three spot.
4. Iowa – College Football Playoff Rankings
Iowa didn’t look great in their game this weekend but they did enough to win. In the first half, they looked really sluggish as they looked like a different team from a week ago. But in the second half, they came to life as they played a lot better, and even though they won big they still have some holes they need to improve. As there are a lot of teams they could get in the four spots in the weeks coming.
