Last week, we started our weekly college football rankings. Here is our Ranking heading into week 5:

25. Iowa State

The 25th spot this week, was really up in the air. We have seen a lot of upsets this year, which has broke the depth of rankings this season.

24. Wake Forest

It’s not often that you see Wake Forest in the top 25 in football. But the Demon Deacons are 1st in the ACC after beating both Florida State and Virginia. Later in the year, they will play two ranked schools in Clemson and NC State.

23. Maryland

The Terrapins are third in the Big 10. Sitting 4-0 and will have a big test this weekend when they face #4 Iowa.

22. Baylor

First in the Big 12, Baylor just knocked Iowa State out of the top 25. They’ll face 3 ranked teams in the next six weeks. Facing off against #17 Oklahoma State next week. They’ll also face off against #13 BYU and #6 Oklahoma.

21. Auburn

They come in with a record of 3-1 with that one loss coming against #5 Penn State. Auburn will have a hard task the rest of the season.

20. UCLA

The only PAC-12 team in the top 25 besides Oregon. UCLA has one loss that came against Fresno State. The only test that UCLA will face the rest of the way is on October 23rd when they face Oregon.

19. Fresno State

The Bulldogs continue to impress and shock the world. This week Fresno State beat UNLV 38-30. They do not play a ranked opponent the rest of the way, but they play San Diego State and Boise State in back-to-back weeks at the end of October and the beginning of November.

18. Ohio St.

The Buckeyes continue to fall. Even though they won this last week. The past two weeks have been non-convincing wins.

17. Oklahoma St.

After a 3-0, the Cowboys continue their hot start and knock Kansas State out of the top 25. This upcoming weekend they will play a #22 Baylor team, though the real test comes at the end of the year against Oklahoma.

16. Michigan St.

Although they have not played a ranked team at all yet this season, the Spartans continue to impress. They are 4-0, but have a rough schedule ahead.

15. Texas A&M

The Aggieslost to the Razorbacks by 10 points. Te test for the Aggies will be in two weeks on October 9th, when they face off against Alabama.

14. Coastal Carolina

The Chanticleers continue to be undefeated as they crushed the University of Massachusetts 53-3. It will be hard for Coastal Carolina to get any higher because they don’t play any ranked teams.

13. BYU

The Cougars continue their hot stretch after beating South Florida 35-27. Baylor Romney has settled into the offense and has looked really good. For the remaining part of their schedule, the Cougars will face Boise State. Three Pac-12 teams and a #22 Baylor.

12. Michigan

Rutgers stayed in the game with the Wolverines, however the latter came out with the win by a TD. The Wolverines have 3 ranked teams on their schedule the rest of the way including Michigan State and Penn State.

11. Ole Miss

The biggest game of the week comes between Ole Miss and Alabama. Lane Kiffin vs. Nick Saban. Kiffin was the Offensive Coordinator and the QB coach for the Crimson Tide from 2014 – 2016. It will be an interesting battle for sure. A battle that the whole world can’t wait for.

Honorable Mention: Texas Tech, LSU, Kansas St., Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Rutgers

10. Florida

After losing by two points to the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Gators came out this last week and beat their rival Tennessee by 24 points. This week the Gators take on an Honorable Mention team in Kentucky. Down the road, they will also face HM LSU, as well as #2 Georgia.

9. Cincinnati

Both Cincinatti and #7 Notre Dame face off in what should be the second biggest game of the week. One team will fall, the other will excel higher into the rankings. So far this season, that Cincinatti offense has not looked too promising to take on a Notre Dame team but we will see on Saturday.

8. Arkansas

The Razorbacks are second in the SEC West with an undefeated record. Last week, they beat #15 Texas A&M. This week they will take on #2 Georgia, in a top 3 matchup.

7. Notre Dame

The fighting Irish cleaned up a few of their mistakes last weekend, but take on #9 Cincinatti this week. In the game against Wisconsin, Notre Dame used both Coan and Pyne.

6. Oklahoma

The Sooners only came out on top of West Virginia by 3 points. Will they survive? This week will tell the story as Oklahoma plays Kansas State who was ranked last week and is an HM this week.

5. Penn State

One more week until we see a #4 and #5 matchup between Penn State and Iowa. Will both teams come out on top. This week Penn State will play Indiana.

4. Iowa

Going up against #23 Maryland before their big matchup against Penn State. Can they hold on? Iowa has looked good this year.

3. Oregon

The Ducks outlasted Fresno State, upset Ohio State, and demolished Stony-Brook, and ran away from Arizona 41-19. The Ducks continue to strive so far this season. But once again, the Compelling Story for Mario Cristobal and the Ducks will be whether or not they can go undefeated in Pac-12 play.

2. Georgia

This weekend, the Bulldogs crushed Vanderbilt in a shutout win 62-0. But will now play a few ranked teams over the next four weeks.

1. ALABAMA

Down the stretch, Alabama has to face five ranked teams as well as teams that have been ranked in past years. Will this be the year that Alabama loses a game?
