Creative Control Card: “Elimination Chamber: Perth”

Drew McIntyre, one of the competitors in what may be the main event of Elimination Chamber: Perth, showcases his new money-printing t-shirt.

@WWEonFOX/X

Elimination Chamber: Perth will be Australia’s first WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) since 2018’s Super Showdown. This is the second year in a row the Elimination Chamber PLE will be outside the United States. Several unfortunate injuries have derailed or changed plans already this year, and to make matters worse Gunther will miss the PLE due to visa issues. How should WWE approach a PLE that has been hampered from the turn of the calendar? This written edition of Creative Control Card will tackle all the Elimination Chamber: Perth matches and segments confirmed to this point.

Damian Priest & Finn Bálor (c) vs. Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate

Not long after this match begins, R-Truth is found in the nosebleeds trying to sneak into the match. Priest and Bálor are unaware as to why the crowd is abuzz and keep going. The Judgment Day is in control early, but Act II of the match sees Dunne and Bate begin to bring it back.

R-Truth is in the lower seating section now, trying his hardest to sneak his way to the ring. He is failing at this miserably. Eventually, Priest and Bálor see him getting close to ringside. Without a second thought, Priest leaves the ring, grabs a chair, and lays out R-Truth. Priest powerbombs R-Truth onto the announce table without breaking it.

Despite a late comeback attempt, the Judgment Day retains. As soon as they win the match, Priest and Bálor, along with Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh, attack R-Truth and hit him with all of their finishers. R-Truth is kayfabe injured and written off TV for about a month. In the meantime, comical vignettes of his road to recovery play weekly on Raw.

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax

The Perth crowd will be electric for Rhea Ripley as she wrestles in her home country for the first time in a long time. Whether Nia Jax comes out to total silence or ear-splitting boos is to be determined. Ripley falls behind early, but every time she gets up the Perth crowd rallies behind her. Once she starts gaining momentum, it’s over. Ripley lands two Riptides for good measure to pin and retain the title. Will anyone in the women’s Elimination Chamber match want to win after seeing Ripley make Nia Jax look like nothing?

“The Grayson Waller Effect” Elimination Chamber: Perth edition

Grayson Waller walks out expecting a hero’s welcome… but he’s booed instead. He channels his inner Kurt Angle and immediately says “let’s try this again, next time react accordingly to the king of Australia.” The second try goes worse, the crowd lets him hear it. Waller eventually decides “forget it” and begins his show. Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins enter to massive cheers. Both of them upstage Waller and cut a joint promo on The Bloodline. There’s no need to hypothesize what they could possibly say, just let them cook.

Women’s Elimination Chamber: Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Liv Morgan vs. ???

For the sake of filling in blanks, let us assume Shayna Baszler wins the last-chance battle royale. Belair and Baszler will begin the Chamber match and the two put on a technical display. Liv Morgan is the first to enter and she and Baszler team up on Belair. Belair is able to shake both of them off, though, and lays both of them out. Becky Lynch enters second and the two square off. They trade finishers, with Belair toughing out the Disarmher in order to land a KOD, only for Lynch to kick out.

Entering third is Naomi and she lays everyone out. Shayna Baszler is the first to be eliminated thanks to a Rear View from Naomi. Morgan tries to roll up Naomi but fails. Tiffany Stratton enters but is stared down by the remaining competitors. A melee breaks out. Everyone starts throwing each other into the walls and onto the steel floor.

Bianca Belair goes on a brief run, pinning Liv Morgan after a KOD, catching Tiffany Stratton and hitting another KOD and pinning her. Belair, Naomi, and Lynch have a ten-minute three-way dance that excites. Lynch pins Belair after getting a Rear View assist from Naomi. Naomi immediately lays out Lynch and goes for an Uso Splash but Lynch counters it into a Disarmher. Naomi cannot fight her way out of it. She taps out, which means Becky Lynch is going to WrestleMania. She stares Rhea Ripley down, who has been on commentary for this match.

Men’s Elimination Chamber: Drew McIntyre vs. LA Knight vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens

Drew McIntyre and LA Knight start the proceedings and the two do their thing for a good while. Entering first is Logan Paul and he immediately goes for a spot on a prone LA Knight from the top of his pod. Paul goes for a splash but is met by a vicious Claymore. McIntyre covers and eliminates Paul. McIntyre and Knight resume their fight, but it’s interrupted by Bobby Lashley entering.

Just as Lashley begins getting some momentum, the lights go out. When they turn back on, Karrion Kross and the Authors of Pain have teleported into the ring. They beat up Bobby Lashley and though Lashley hits Kross with a Spear through an empty pod, the Final Testament hits him with several finishers. The lights go out again and they’re gone. McIntyre, the opportunist that he is, pins Lashley.

Next is Kevin Owens. He faces off with McIntyre in an effort to avenge what McIntyre did to Sami Zayn. An intense back-and-forth goes on for long enough that Randy Orton finally enters. He and Knight immediately begin fighting. Eventually, Knight turns Orton around for a BFT but is hit with an RKO onto the steel floor. Orton covers but Knight kicks out. Meanwhile, Owens tries a Pop-Up Powerbomb but McIntyre has too much speed. Only problem for McIntyre is Knight catches him. He’s hit with a BFT. LA Knight covers, but McIntyre manages to kick out just barely.

It’s a rapid-fire finish. Orton counters an Owens Stunner attempt into an RKO to pin and eliminate Owens. Knight catches Orton and hits him with a BFT to eliminate him. Knight has a little trouble getting up and McIntyre is in position. He hits Knight with a Claymore, covers him, and pins to win. Elimination Chamber: Perth ends with Drew McIntyre picking up a much-needed win.
