The second half of the XFL season kicked off with the top two teams squaring off. The DC Defenders handed the Houston Roughnecks their second straight loss in what could be a preview of the XFL Championship game. Orlando remains winless six weeks into the season. The St. Louis Battlehawks rebounded after struggling against the DC, and the Brahmas managed to rebound against the struggling offense of Arlington.
DC DEFENDERS 37, ROUGHNECKS 26
The top two XFL teams squared off in the first Monday night game for the third attempt at this Spring football league. The Defenders exploited the best defense in the league for the 37-26 win. Jordan Ta’amu passed for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Abram Smith rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. DC continues rolling in the XFL North Division. Despite the loss, Houston remains on top of the XFL South Division.
BRAHMAS 15, RENEGADES 9
The San Antonio Brahmas rebounded from last week’s home loss to Arlington by heading north and beating the Renegades on their home field. San Antonio’s offense failed to score 20 points for the fifth time in six games, but defense led the Brahmas to victory as Jordan Williams recovered a fumble and returned it for a San Antonio touchdown. The Brahmas added two field goals and then picked off Drew Plitt on the final play of the game to secure the win. San Antonio now sits one game behind Arlington in the XFL South standings.
SEA DRAGONS 26, GUARDIANS 19
The Seattle Sea Dragons continue making a run toward the second playoff spot in the XFL North. Seattle beat Orlando 26-19 to reel off their fourth straight win and keep the Guardians winless. Seattle currently leads the XFL in passing offense and that continued in week six, as quarterback Ben DiNucci tossed two more touchdown passes despite only completing 18 of 35 passes for 175 yards. The Sea Dragons look to be having a close battle with St. Louis for the second spot in the XFL North.
BATTLEHAWKS 29, VIPERS 6
Former Alabama QB A.J. McCarron played nearly flawlessly to help St. Louis match Seattle’s record and maintain second place in the XFL North. The college standout has led the Battlehawks to multiple comeback wins in 2023, but a comeback wasn’t necessary as St. Louis beat Vegas at every turn. McCarron completed 23 of 29 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. St. Louis intercepted Luis Perez twice to shore up the win.

WEEK 7 PREVIEW
Seattle looks for its fifth straight win as the team heads to Arlington Friday night. Both the Sea Dragons and Renegades are fighting for playoff spots. St. Louis heads to Houston to face the best team in the South while the Roughnecks try to stop their losing skid. The Brahmas try to pass Arlington in the standings while Vegas searches for a way to beat anyone not named Orlando. And the Guardians hope to finally breakthrough with a win against the only undefeated team left in the league.
