In the NBA world, DeMarcus Cousins is better known for his time with the Sacramento Kings. Though, he also played with the New Orleans Pelicans, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors. The early part of his career was his most successful.

Now, no longer in the NBA after injuries forced him out. The closest he has been to an NBA return was a workout with the Los Angeles Lakers in Puerto Rico. Boogie is finding success over seas. Recently, Cousins talked with Hoops Hype about his future.

“Honestly, no. I know I’ve had my time there,” said Cousins when asked by Hoops Hype if he still plans to pursue a return to the NBA. “You know, there was a point where I was trying to make that happen. But the place I’m in my life now, just with everything I’ve got going on, just outside of basketball, like I’m in a good place. So, like I said, I’m excited for what I have ahead and my future.”

During his 12-year career, DeMarcus Cousins was far from being the perfect player. He had his share of issues and controversaries, but its not like he had an uncontrollable personality. After he failed the Lakers audition, he had voiced his frustrations about not being able to find answer about why he hasn’t been able to make an NBA roster since 2022.

“That’s honestly my biggest issue,” said Cousins.“You never really get an honest answer. Look at myself first and what I can do to better myself. I’ve asked many questions; I’ve reached out to former teams… I can never really get the raw, honest truth. I would love to get a real answer.”

It appears that he’s thought deeply about the topic and has decided that a return to the NBA would not be in his best interest. He has been able to dominate in both Puerto Rico and Taiwan, where he last played with the Taiwan Beer Leopards. Boogie averaged 22 points, 11.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 30 minutes of action per outing.
