Ingrid Andress Anthem

Following a very high-energy introduction of the eight players who would be participating in the Derby. It was time for Country Music star and 4-time Grammy Nominee Ingrid Andress to perform the National Anthem. At first, it sounds like a good get for the MLB.

Andress, 32, broke through the Country Music industry with her single “More Hearts Than Mine” in 2019. Since then she’s released several albums and been on many tours. According to CBS, her father, Brad Andress, was a strength and conditioning coach with the Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, and University of Michigan.

No disrespect to Ms. Andress, she’s a talented country singer who has many pleasant and lovely songs. Over the history of time, we have had some amazing renditions of the National Anthem. We’ve also seen some that fall into the opposite category… ones that were just gawd awful. There’s also been some that have been okay. Everyone was cringing at Ingrid Andress rendition of the National Anthem including the players.

At the Super Bowl LVII Country Music star Chris Stapleton performed one of the best renditions of the “Star Spangled Banner” in the modern day. With everything in the news, the United States could have used a good rendition. Andress was off-pitch and all over the place. We’ll let you be the judge on where this one sits.
