College football fans may remember DJ Foster. A standout at Arizona State, foster was electric as a back for the Sun Devils. He tried to make in the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots. Despite having some solid preseason performances, he could not crack the final roster. Foster then took a shot with the Cardinals, but tore his ACL. Many felt his pro football dreams were over. However, he is now getting a chance with the Toronto Argonauts.

A Small But Solid Sample Size

In two games with the team, he has made his presence felt. Foster made his debut against the defending champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he had 10 carries for for 110 yards and a touchdown. He also added one catch for 14 yards. The Labor Day classic, or Labour Day for the folks up north, did not offer the same results. The Hamilton Tiger – Cats blew them out of the water. Foster was involved and showed off his receiving skills with seven catches for 38 yards. DJ Foster and John White IV have made up the thunder and lighting so far. 189 total yards in two games with a new team is a very good start.

Can it be Sustained?

Foster has mostly gotten his chance due to injuries. If he continues to play well, there is no reason to think that he wouldn’t keep the role he has right now. Ride the hot hand for as long as you can. A back with explosion can be hard to contain, especially with an offense that has looked very good with Nick Arbuckle at quarterback. Hamilton shut them down one game, but the offense is still one to take note of. The Argos are still firmly in the mix and are a team to watch moving forward,
