Donovan Mitchell has signed an extension and made his commitment to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the next several years. Even if he has occasionally been featured in trade speculations in the previous months. Mitchell and Cleveland agreed to a new three-year, $150.3 million contract on Tuesday. That includes a player option for the 2027-28 season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Structure Of The Contract Extension
Mitchell had the chance to sign for up to four years and $207.8 million. The deal’s structure is noteworthy. However, by choosing a three-year extension with a player option. Mitchell will be able to potentially enter the market at the age of thirty. When Mitchell turns thirty it will be his tenth NBA season and he can sign a super max deal. The Louisville product had a contract that ran through 2024–25 with a $37.1 million player option for the next year, 2025–26.
Optimistic

Mitchell averaged 28.3 points, 4.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. While shooting 48.4 percent field goal and 38.6 percent three-point shooting.
