Man of the Match

Courtois- 8/10 Where would we be without Tibo? Made a crucial save in the first half and a few more in the second. On the ball, he was excellent.

Starting XI

Vasquez- 5/10 Offered very little offensively but held his own against Fati.

Militao- 6/10 If only the mistake could have been ignored it would have been a 8/10 performance from the Brazilian. But unfortunately, we can’t. Good decision making on the ball and helped progress the ball out from the back.

Rudiger- 7/10 A solid debut for Antonio Rudiger. He was surprisingly deployed at left back and did a good job there up against Raphinha.

Alaba- 6.5/10 Made a couple poor decisions but made some crucial blocks and tackles.

Tchouameni- 7.5/10 Showed for the ball and recycled it well. He didn’t take too many risks with his passes which is understandable as it’s his debut.

Valverde- 6/10 Hit the post after shooting from outside of the box but had a quiet night otherwise.

Camavinga- 8/10 Made a big mistake inside his own box but was good otherwise. Was always showing for the ball and moving to create space.

Hazard- 6/10 He didn’t do much wrong on the night, but the things he did right, wasn’t enough. He found some nice pockets, but wasn’t ruthless enough in his decision making.

Rodrygo- 8/10 Very good game from Rodrygo. Showed neat footwork and movement to create openings.

Vini Jr- 7/10 Looked rusty during the start of the match but grew into it. Was a constant threat for Barca.

Subs

Vallejo- 6/10 He made some good diagonal switches and defended well.

Nacho- 7/10 Solid match from Nacho. Made a crucial tackle when he was 1v1 against Dembele.

Kroos- 6.5/10 He made a few “pre season passes” but helped us progress and retain the ball.

Modric- 8/10 Beside from aiding our ball progression and retention, he offered us an outlet with his overlapping runs.

Asensio- 6/10 The talent is evident, but his decision making let him down.

Casemiro- 6/10 Looked rusty on the ball butt added to our defensive solidity.

Odriozola- 6.5/10 Showed good athleticism as he had to run the entire right flank without a natural winger.

Ceballos- 7/10 Good game from the Spaniard. He was given the license to roam and used the ball well.

Mendy- 6.5/10 Solid defensively, but offered nothing offensively.

Mariano- 6.5/10 Brought a different dynamic to the game as he made deep runs and occupied the center backs.
