How did the two finalists get here
At the start of the tournament there were 24 teams, now there are two left and they are set to battle it out on Europe’s biggest stage. Italy have been the superior team of the tournament, while England have been not really the team that everyone expected to be in the final. Italy progressed through the group stage with ease, while England were left to disappoint after only beating the Croatia 1-0 and drew Scotland 0-0 in a dreadful game. It has led up to this enticing final
Who are the favorites to win?
Italy look to be the clear favorites as their team has been rock solid in every aspect with the likes of Federico Chiesa, Manuel Locatelli, Leandro Bonucci, Giorgio Chielleni and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma exceeding all expectation and scoring goals when they needed to be scored. They have been unbeaten in the last 33 matches and hey have yet to concede more than two goals.
On the other hand England are led by Captain Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and a strong line of defense that includes Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire, John Stones and Luke Shaw. But that isn’t only the star that have been in their lineup. There are players that are on the bench that include Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, Bukayo Saka, etc. They have been the driving force of this England team.
What can we expect in the final?
It is going to be an end to end final and we can expect a strong performance from both sides as they are both hungry to end their trophy droughts. All we know is that there will be one champion at the end of the game on Sunday afternoon. And the question remains for the fans will it be “coming home”? or will the Azzuri win the euro trophy.
