Kylian Mbappe has once again made headlines in every major media outlet, but not because he scored in this week’s Champions League fixture against Benfica. The Frenchman allegedly demanded a transfer out of PSG as soon as the next transfer window despite recently signing a three-year deal with the French giant.

Rumors have stated Mbappe’s disagreement with the club’s developing direction and signings alongside his crumbling relationship with fellow superstar Neymar Jr. among others. Sporting director Luis Campos has denied all reports on this matter, quoting, “I am very surprised because I spend all my days with Kylian Mbappe, and he never once asked me or the president to leave in January” (via RMC Sport). But it doesn’t hurt to look at some possible clubs that might be able to afford his hefty contract and extravagant personality.

Of course, the obvious choice. The reality of president Nasser Al-Khelaifi letting one of his money-making sources leaves so abruptly after a contract extension does not seem to make any sense. PSG still is a worthy opponent in this year’s contention for Champions League glory. The highly anticipated trio of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr., and Lionel Messi has glued fluidly, combining for 31 goals in all competitions this season, tied for first in the Top 5 leagues. Plus, only a few teams dare to take in that financial burden of a contract. Thus, we might be able to see the 23-year-old in the City of Love for (at least) one more season.

Real Madrid

The ongoing drama of a potential Mbappe transfer to Los Blancos last summer halted after a 180-turn that brought him back to PSG. Florentino Perez clearly has enough finances to afford that contract, and his dream of building yet another Galacticos is still underway, with Kylian Mbappe being the piece he chased for so long. At this point, Real need to pull up in Paris with money-filled containers, as this opportunity might not come knocking on their door a third time. Regards the France international’s perspective, he will get to play with a top-tier midfield and disruptive wingers that get him into scoring positions at will. And a chance to play with France attacking partner Karim Benzema. He will be their star now and in the future.

Manchester United

A transfer rumor cannot complete without Manchester United’s name involved. Big club, big name, big fanbase, big money flow. If the financial status is sufficient to bring in world football’s biggest stars, why wouldn’t they look at a promising Mbappe deal? Their attack lacks a sharp finisher, as Jadon Sancho and Antony are chance creators, while Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are known for their inconsistency. They do have Cristiano Ronaldo, but let’s be honest: he isn’t half the man he used to be this season. The acquisition of Mbappe could solve everything upfront for the Red Devils. And every player once or twice has dreamt of a chance to play under the limelight of Old Trafford. Here is your time Mbappe, and also, you might be the next in line for the legendary number 7 shirt.

Chelsea

Since the takeover of Todd Boehly and co., Chelsea has made numerous splashy signings. But are they down for the splashiest signing of them all? Chelsea is struggling with their offensive output this season. After letting two disappointing strikers Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku leave, they panic-signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to fill that gap. And although he is doing quite well for Chelsea attacking line, it isn’t long-term since Auba has passed his prime. And Kylian Mbappe can finish, can create chances through his speed and dribbling. Buying him can set Chelsea up for years, making the Americans’ scope a reality.

Manchester City

When it comes to money flow, there are few teams that can match PSG hand in hand as Manchester City can. Building attacks is no longer Manchester City’s top priority after they attain a beast of a player in Erling Haaland. But imagine a scenario of Kevin De Bruyne placing a glorious through ball to either Mbappe or Haaland before they smash it in the back of the net. That trio would be unstoppable. That would be FIFA in real life. The possibility of a personality clash is hard to avoid, but Pep Guardiola can handle it fine.
