Boogie Fland, the number one rated five-star point guard prospect in the 2024 class, has cut his list down to eight schools. That list includes Alabama, North Carolina, UConn, Maryland, Kentucky, St. Johns, Michigan, and Indiana.
Boogie Fland goes to high school at Archbishop Stepinac in New York, so St Johns is the in-state school for him and with Rick Pitino as coach, St John’s might be a favorite to land Fland if the visit goes well. Obviously there is blue blood programs in North Carolina, Kentucky, and UConn but the Tar Heels and Wildcats have struggled in recent years, with the Tar Heels missing the NCAA Tournament after being the preseason number on team. Fland has taken official visits to North Carolina, Michigan and Indiana. UConn and St John’s have hosted him unofficially while the rest he will visit in September.
He received offers from Kansas, Auburn, UCLA, Illinois, Villanova, and other prior to him cutting his list down. Jamie Shaw, one of the recruiting analysts for On3 has high praise for Fland, saying he is never afraid of the spotlight and he is a unselfish teammate, willing to passing the rock if his teammate has a better shot. He is a shooter and a good one at that, give him in an inch and he will pull up from deep in your face, Shaw also added. We will have to wait and see after September what school Boogie Fland will choose. Stay tuned Fantom!
