Brock Bowers NFL Draft

By: Justin Gincauskas

Georgia junior tight end Brock Bowers announced Tuesday that he intends to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. Bowers is the only player in college football history to win the John Mackey Award twice, presented to the nation’s top tight end.

Bowers posted a lengthy message on his Instagram account expressing his gratitude for Georgia football. He finished by saying that he would officially be declaring for the draft.

“I am so thankful for my teammates throughout the years, and the friendships I made along the way,” Bowers wrote. “I could not ask for a better group of guys to play alongside and be with everyday for the last 3 years.”

“Finally, thank you dawg nation for the everlasting support you guys have shown me throughout my time here. Easily the best fans in the nation. It has been such an awesome ride. With that being said, I will officially be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Bowers, who won two national championships with the Bulldogs, played at Georgia for three seasons. He led the team in receiving yards this year despite only playing in 10 games due to injury. Bowers had 56 catches for 714 yards, along with six touchdown receptions. He did not play in Georgia’s 63-3 win over Florida State in the Orange Bowl.

In his freshman season with Georgia, Bowers had the sixth most receiving touchdowns in the NCAA with 13. As a sophomore, he had 63 catches for 942 yards, the fourth most receiving yards in the SEC. Bowers finishes his college career with 175 catches for 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns in 40 games with the Bulldogs.

Brock Bowers projects to be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft. He is likely to be selected somewhere in the middle of the first round but has the potential to be a top-10 pick.
