Giannis was a literal man amongst boys as he dropped 44 points in just 28 minutes Saturday night. He and the Bucks easily dismantled the young Rockets squad in a 105-125 routing. With super-efficient 17/21 from the field, including 2/3 from three, Giannis made his dominant performance look casual. And at this point in his career, one can say it is with little argument.

The rest of the Bucks squad was able to muster up a solid game all-around after a not so hot start in their season opener. The deer shot a combined blistering 51.6% from three, and 56.5% from the field. A big question for Giannis and the Bucks coming into the season was how they would look starting without Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton. It may just be two games, but those worries may already be put to rest. Bobby Portis and the rest of the Bucks bench scoring 42 points will instill that kind of confidence.

The Rockets ran into a Greek buzzsaw but put on a solid showing themselves. Young star Jalen Green led the Houston squad with 22 points albeit on just 6-19 shooting. The team as a whole shot 43.2% from three but were often stifled in the paint by Giannis and Brook Lopez. The Rockets don’t have a paint presence that would rival many teams in the NBA, let alone one of the best frontcourts, and the Bucks were more than happy to take advantage.

Giannis and the Bucks will look to keep it rolling October 26th when the Nets will head to the Fiserv Forum. Meanwhile the Rockets will continue working towards their first dub October 24th against the Jazz.
