The Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club were the only champion in the PLL. That is, until Chaos defeated them preventing the championship hat trick. The Whips just didn’t look like themselves after the winning streak dating back to the bubble year came to an end. Additionally, Matt Rambo getting hurt really hindered them in terms of seeding and the score differential. But he was healthy for the playoff run.

Questions In Cage?

Folks, we may have a goalie controversy on our hands. Kyle Bernlohr got benched for Brain Phipps. Now to be fair, Bernlohr was really struggling and the right call was probably made. It is hard to ignore the fact that maybe bringing Bernlohr in off the bench when Chaos was hot in the championship game may have given them a spark. Phipps had his fair share of struggles in that game. One thing we all know about goalies that is universal regardless of what sport they is play is they want to the top option, especially in critical situations.

If Bernlohr feels as though he is getting slighted, he could request a trade or he may get traded because the team has lost faith in him. He is 29 and Phipps is 33. Are these goalies getting to old? Could a blockbuster trade be in the works to get younger in net? One team to watch for a potential is Chrome with the retirement of John Galloway. They will have a high draft pick because of their last place finish.

Do They Need More?

Rambo, Zed Williams, and Brad Smith are pretty much the big three. They are surrounded with complementary pieces who have contributed a good amount of goals and points. However, after struggling in the championship game, did Chaos expose potential problems that had been covered up for two years? Overall, it remains to be seen as Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club missed out on history and now entire a long offseason wondering what might have been.
