How did a 0-star recruit become Josh Allen, when you saw the article title you could say no way Josh Allen was a 0-star recruit. But he grew up on a 3000-acre (1,200-ha) cotton farm near Firebaugh, California, a small town about 40 miles (64 km) west of Fresno, California. His family has lived in the area since his great-grandfather, who emigrated from Sweden in 1907, settled there during the Great Depression. He grew up a huge Fresno State fan who regularly attended both games and football camps. Although putting up great stats in high school and the only offer he received was to walk on at San Diego State which he turned down because of playing time.

College Career

After Fresno State didn’t offer Allen he went to the gym and started working trying to get other scholarships. But little did he know going to the gym that day, it was going to be the best day of his life because he meet Ernie Rodriguez, who was the offensive coordinator for Reedley Community College. He knew of Allen and asked him to try out for the team, which Allen did. Allen quickly became the starter at Reedley and was putting up impressive stats yet again just like in high school. Throwing for 2,055 yards 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions. But again he still wasn’t getting any offers. He emailed over 100 Division 1 coaches. Trying to play Division 1, Eastern Michigan, and Wyoming. But, when Allen visited Wyoming, Eastern Michigan withdrew their offer so Allen went to Wyoming. In his first year at Wyoming, he only played two games and made one start before breaking his collarbone. Because the injury occurred he qualified for a medical redshirt. Allen returned from injury in 2016 and was the starter. In 2016 he threw for over 3,200 yards and 28 touchdowns.

The next year he would declare for the NFL Draft his senior season, in his senior season at Wyoming, he threw for 1812 yards 16 touchdowns, and six INTs. In the 2017 NFL Draft, he went 12th to the Buffalo Bills.

Becoming Josh Allen – Pro Career

Josh Allen’s pro career to this point has been nothing but fabulous. With a 62.8 competition percentage, 16,094 passing yards, with a 120-50 touchdown-to-INT ratio in his career so far. As his potential to this point in his career is out of the roof. He has yet to win a super-bowl but came very close last year in an exciting game vs the Kansas City Chiefs which they lost in overtime. But he still has a lot of time left in his career.
