All eyes of the football world are on Lambeau Field as today the Green Bay Packers host their annual shareholder’s meeting. However, this year the main focus for the sports world is the Aaron Rodgers situation. So, today is the day that Packers leadership can spin a narrative about the dilemma.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst addressed the attempts to resolve any issue that Rodgers has with the franchise,

“We have been working tirelessly with Aaron and his representation to resolve the issues he has raised this offseason,

So, Gutekunst, in his speech, basically took the route of trying to solve any qualms that Rodgers might have with the team. But, reading the quote, it seems more of a reassurance to the stakeholders that something was done to end this peacefully. Though in front of the stakeholders who own the Packers, this is the presentation that is expected. It did not flush out all the issues but shifts the power back to Rodgers. Meanwhile, the Packers can take a victory lap on a potential reunion.

Packers president Mark Murphy in his speech to the stakeholders basically ran the victory lap. Murphy said the following,

“Obviously, it’s been a challenging situation for both Aaron and us as an organization. But let’s not forget all the great things Aaron has done for this organization. Three-time MVP, Super Bowl champion. It’s easy to forget that but he’s a phenomenal talent. We’re happy to have him.”

Is The Aaron Rodgers Saga Over?

With today’s stakeholders meeting now concluded, Packers fans will be getting some good news with Rodgers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Rodgers will return to the Packers for the 2021 season. But, with Rodgers returning, the Packers will have to make some concessions to please Rodgers. The biggest line is that the final year of the contract will be voided, and the situation will be reevaluated at year’s end. So, as for now, Packers fans will have a small concession with at least one more year with Rodgers at quarterback. Though a deal is not yet finalized it ends the saga of Rodgers and the Packers before the start of the training camp.
