Shaheen Holloway and Seton Hall has earned a big commitment in Isaiah Coleman, as he announced Monday that he will commit to Seton Hall. He was a former Charleston commit in the 2023 freshmen class, so he flipped from Charleston to Seton Hall. Here’s how this will impact the Big East and Seton Hall’s chances of making noise in the best conference in college basketball.

Impact

Isaiah Coleman stands up at six foot five and 180 pounds. He is a slasher and versatile defender, the ability to defend just about about any position. He is currently ranked number 79 in the 2023 freshmen class in the nation according to Rivals. Holloway has been vocal on the idea that he is not giving up on bringing in and developing high-schoolers despite the prevailing transfer trend and the risks of a multiyear developmental plan in this era of college basketball where teams build through the transfer portal. Coleman has the ability to start in the middle of the season if he earns it and be one of the first players to come off the bench for the pirates. This was a much needed addition for a conference in the Big East where top elite prospects and transfers are committing to St Johns to play for coach Rick Pitino, go to Xavier to have a great chance at a tournament run, go to Uconn to play for the 2022 national champions, or go to Creighton to play for a coach that is hungry to win, Greg McDermott, with elite players coming back from that Elite eight team last season including Baylor Scheierman and Ryan Kalkbrenner. Know the name and remember it, Isaiah Coleman is coming to New Jersey!
