Field Yates, of ESPN, broke the news today that the New England Patriots are working on a deal to bring back Jamie Collins for his third stint with the team. Collins was released by the Lions following week 3 after refusing to report to practice due to his diminished role this season. Collins last played with the Patriots in 2019 and was a top candidate for Defensive Player of the Year for much of that season.

Official numbers of the deal have not yet been released, as the deal is still being worked out. Collins walked away from Detroit with the full $2.3 million he was scheduled to make this year, plus a $3.8 million signing bonus.
