The beginning stage of the College Football National Championship is right around the corner. The first matchup will be No. 1 Michigan against No. 4 Alabama. As of now, the Wolverines are 1.5 points over the Crimson Tide. During an appearance on The Next Round, Fox Sports Analyst Joel Klatt made his predictions for the College Football Playoff Matchup.

“For 12 weeks this year, I thought Michigan was the better team than Alabama,” Klatt said. “Then it just so happens that the one week that I don’t feel all that confident in that happens to be their last game.”

Klatt has been synonymous with choosing the Wolverines to win. Who wouldn’t want to choose them? They’ve been dominant all year and have stacked up some impressive wins. Some of those wins came without their head coach.

“When you see what Bama was able to do against Georgia and when you see what Michigan was without Zak Zinter against Iowa… Because if those two versions show up Bama’s going to win. Now if the Michigan that beat Ohio State and the Alabama that struggled with Auburn shows up, then Michigan wins the game.”

Despite, the hate because of Florida State missing out. Alabama actually has one of the strongest resumes. They beat Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia. They were by far probably the best one loss team in college football this season.

“I’m leaning Alabama in this game,” Klatt said. “I am different than Vegas, I think that the ability of Jalen Milroe to extend plays is something that defense has not seen.”

Joel Klatt has chose to go against Vegas this time around as the Wolverines make their third appearance in the CFP. Alabama will be a tough task for Jim Harbaugh’s team. They’re 9-4 in the CFP and have won three national championships.
