“You’ve got to fight for your right to party.” That’s exactly what both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles have done all season long. Though, in the end it’s the Kansas City Chiefs partying with the Vince Lombardi trophy after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
Some may call it a tale of two halves, and some may even say it’s the best Super Bowl we’ve seen in years. Either way, it did not dissapoint.
First Quarter
The Chiefs won the toss, and deferred to the second half. The Eagles elected to receive. The Philadelphia offense would run right over the Kansas City defense. The well balanced attack of Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, and Jalen Hurts would lead their team downfield, where Hurts would rush it in from a yard out.
Patrick Mahomes would then lead the Chiefs down field and connect with his No. 1 target Travis Kelce from 18 yards out. Though, Isiah Pacheco played a big part in this posession as well.
The score would remain tied for the rest of the first quarter.
Second Quarter
To open the quarter, Jason Kelce and the Eagles offensive line gave Hurts all day to throw. Well he found Brown for 45 yards and a touchdown.
After four minutes had gone by in the second quarter of Super Bowl LVII, the score remained 14-7. That was until Nick Bolton scooped it up and scored.
Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts carried the ball 15 times for 70 yards, and three touchdowns. Two of those rushing touchdowns came in the first half. Though, before the second touchdown Hurts had a big fourth down run.
Then came his second rushing touchdown.
With two minutes remaining in the first half, Chiefs Kingdom saw their quarterback limp off the field. While they may have taken a gasp of air, and thought the season may be done. Mahomes thought otherwise.
“I told you all,” Mahomes stated while recieving his MVP. “Nothing was going to keep me off the field.”
Though, he wouldn’t return and the Eagles kicked a field goal to go up by 10 at halftime.
Halftime Show
With lots of action on the field, Rihanna had more planned. The pop music artist would not only play her popular songs but she had something to announce as well… She’s pregnant for the second time.
Whether the halftime show was good or not, depends on your flavor of entertainment and your flavor music.
Third Quarter
The Chiefs came out of the locker room with energy, passion, and a will to win the game. That showed on the opening drive, which was capped off by a one-yard touchdown run by Pacheco.
The Eagles were not prepared for what was about to happen after their second half field goal.
Fourth Quarter
Mahomes shook off his ankle injury, turned back into a magician and led the Chiefs to another comeback on the biggest stage to help the Kansas City Chiefs win their second Super Bowl in four years. The Chiefs quarterback threw two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, one to Kadarius Toney:
The other was to Skyy Moore after Toney recorded the longest punt return in Super Bowl history.
With five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Eagles would tie it up on another rushing touchdown by Hurts.
Then the Chiefs would get the ball back, take their time, and kick the game winning field goal to win Super Bowl LVII.
“There’s one thing about getting your first one, and it’s a whole other feeling to get two,” Kelce said postgame, often fighting back tears at the podium. “I wanted this one more than I wanted a game in my life. The guys in this locker room, the teammates that I have felt the same way.”
The Kelce family was at the center of attention with both Jason and Travis playing. They were one of the many storylines heading into Super Bowl LVII
“To see my family be in all its glory, get all the flowers, my mom being the center of attention on the jumbotron before the game on the biggest stage, being able to get closer to my brother throughout the season and then meet him at the mountaintop,” Travis said, “It’s the best feeling in the world.”
Both of the Kelce brothers have one ring, on Sunday, the younger brother walked out with his second.
“There’s nothing you can really say to a loved one in a situation like that,” Travis said. “You joke around all the time and say that you want to beat your brother (on) the biggest stage ever, but it’s a weird feeling.”

“There’s nothing really I could say to him other than I love him and he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season.”
“I’m just happy for him. Congratulations,” Jason said of (and to) Travis. “It’s hard to get here. I haven’t quite let the emotion get to me yet. I’m sure we’ll have a more emotional interaction. Still frustrated at that point.”

One thing to keep in mind is that the Kelce brothers also have a podcast, so they will only get two days to wash those emotions.
