Rick Ware Racing names a second driver for the majority of the 2024 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series season. Kaz Grala will drive the number 15 Ford Mustang in 25 races. Grala joins Justin Haley as the two drivers for Rick Ware Racing. Billy Plourde will helm Grala’s crew.

Kaz Grala Confirmed Races

Grala confirmed on Twitter his first race will be the exhibition Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum on February 4th. As of right now, Grala’s first points race will be the second race of the season at Atlanta on February 25th. There’s been no mention of him attempting to qualify for the season-opening Daytona 500. His next start will be his first in a points race since the 2022 Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte.

Rick Ware Racing released a statement on the hire calling Grala “a talented and tenacious driver.” Rick Ware also praised Grala’s “incredible work ethic” and called him an “asset inside and outside of the car.”

Kaz Grala Career

Grala first started in NASCAR in 2016 when he debuted in the Craftsman Truck Series. He has only run two full seasons of any series in that time, driving full time in Trucks in 2017 and full time in the Xfinity Series in 2023. He’s also previously started seven Cup series races. Grala won one truck race in 2016 while never reaching victory lane in either the Xfinity or Cup Series. His best career finish in Cup is a sixth place finish for Kaulig Racing at Talladega in 2020.
