Kevin Durant Assisted with Marijuana Being Unbanned for Players

Many players in the NBA were probably ecstatic to find out that Marijuana will no longer be a banned substance per the new CBA. That’s not because they are abusing it, but more so using it as a relaxation technique to give their bodies rest. Well, it turns out that other NBA players now have Kevin Durant to thank for that as he helped in Marijuana being unbanned.

“So what did you tell Adam?” Cronin asked. “How did you persuade him?”

“Well, he smelled it when I walked in,” Durant replied. “So I didn’t really have to say much, you know what I’m saying? He kind of understood where this was going…It’s the NBA, man… everybody does it, to be honest. It’s like wine at this point.”

“I just felt like it was becoming a thing around the country, around the world…The stigma behind it wasn’t as negative as it was before. It doesn’t affect you in any negative way.”

Kevin Durant has a fair point that a high population of NBA players seek out marijuana products for pain.

In fact, Durant has been an advocate for the Cannabis product to be removed from the banned substance list for several years now. It doesn’t make sense. In today’s world, there is a higher percentage that someone may die or severely cause harm to their bodies by taking pain medications rather than using a product such as marijuana.

“I just enjoy the plant,” Durant said. “It’s as simple as that.”

There’s no question that the product is a plant. The question is whether or not athletes should be able to use it. The fact is it has some benefits. Such as relaxation.
