The Kansas City Chiefs had a game to forget in Week 16, losing to the Las Vegas Raiders 20-14. It was such a poor performance from the Chiefs that Kurt Warner took to X (formerly Twitter) to say that it was the worst the offense has looked since Patrick Mahomes became the starting quarterback.

Kurt Warner On The Chiefs’ Offensive Struggles

“Watched #Chiefs O & could have been worst overall game by this O in Mahomes era…,” Warner posted. “1st credit #RaidersD who out-coached & out played KC, 2nd KC was bad everywhere PM2 missed reads & throws, concepts were confusing, got manhandled upfront, etc… it’s getting late ppl!!”

Frustration has been boiling for Kansas City in recent weeks. Since the Week 10 bye week, the Chiefs have lost four of their last six games, which includes three of their previous four. During the game against the Raiders, tight end Travis Kelce was seen smashing his helmet in anger on the sidelines.

“There were just mistakes, offensively,” Mahomes said. “You see glimpses of us moving the football. You see glimpses of us scoring in the red zone. It’s just we haven’t done it consistently enough, game in, game out. We have one good game, one bad game, one good game, one bad game.”

Despite leading the game in total yards, passing yards, yards per play, and first downs, Kansas City could not get into the endzone when they needed to against Las Vegas. Aidan O’Connell, quarterback for the Raiders, threw for just 62 yards in the game, all of which came in the first quarter. He became the first rookie quarterback to beat Mahomes.

With the loss, the Kansas City Chiefs are no longer in play for the number one seed in the AFC. However, the Chiefs can clinch the AFC West division title with a win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.
