In the latest NBA trade rumors, Wizards’ Kyle Kuzma is expected to be made available for multiple first-round picks, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

Kuzma is averaging 23.1 points per game this season, the 24th most in the league. He is also averaging 6.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. The 28-year-old forward is on pace to have the best season of his career.

The trade rumors surrounding Kyle Kuzma come after the Washington Wizards’ terrible start to the season. Washington is 6-26 through its opening 32 games and is 7.5 games back of the Chicago Bulls for the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards signed Kuzma to a four-year, $90 million contract on July 8.

Potential Kuzma Landing Spot

With an ask of multiple first-round picks, Kuzma’s landing spots are likely limited. According to ClutchPoints, one of the teams expected to go after Kuzma is the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers find themselves comfortably in a playoff spot but not on the same level as the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics, legit title contenders in the Eastern Conference. Indiana ranks 29th in opponent points per game, which would not improve much with a trade for Kuzma.

On Dec. 22, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported that the Wizards could get a good return for trading Kuzma, with a possibility of a first-round pick.

“The four-year, $90 million deal they signed with Kyle Kuzma in free agency is considered quite valuable among rival personnel and could bring back some legitimate first-round draft capital for the rebuilding Wizards,” Fischer wrote.

Whether Washington can get two first-round picks for Kuzma remains to be seen. However, it does appear that the Wizards are at least open to talking to teams about making a trade.
