The Baltimore Ravens are not the favorites heading into their Week 16 game against the 49ers, and quarterback Lamar Jackson is well aware of that. Jackson is glad that the Ravens are underdogs.

Ravens Comment On Being Underdogs

“I don’t want them to pick us,” Jackson said Wednesday, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. “I like being the underdog. I believe we play better when we’re doubted and people aren’t choosing us to win the game. I feel like we play better all the time, so just do it all the way to February. That’s all I ask.”

Although Jackson put a positive spin on not being the favorites, some of his teammates are not as happy that the Ravens are underdogs.

“We feel a little disrespected by that,” Baltimore safety Kyle Hamilton said. “I feel like we are the best team in the league, and we have an opportunity in front of the country to show it.”

“I was surprised to see that,” Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey said regarding the size of the spread against the 49ers. “But I definitely want to make that incorrect for sure. And hopefully, some people lose some money betting with them and make some money betting with us.”

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Ravens are currently five-point underdogs against San Francisco and are +190 on the moneyline.

Both teams sit at 11-3 on the season and have clinched a playoff spot. They are also each looking to finish first in their respective conferences to get that coveted first-round bye.

Whether the Ravens like being the underdogs or not, they will be as motivated as ever to prove that they are not only the best team in the AFC but also in the entire NFL when they face off against the 49ers on Monday.
