Lazio and AC Milan clashed in the Stadio Olimpico for the last fixture of matchday 19. Milan are winless in their last four matches while Lazio are looking to extend their winning streak to three games.
AC Milan started the game on the front foot. They took the initiative in possession and counter pressed with intensity.
Lazio then settled into the game and opened the scoring with four minutes on the clock. Kalulu tracked Felipe Anderson upfield which left space in the defensive line that Sergej Milinković-Savić exploited. Zaccagni made a simple cut back and the Serbian midfielder punished the visitors.
For the next 10-15 minutes. Lazio went on to dominate possession and look relatively comfortable defensively.
Milan raised the intensity and registered their first shot on target in the 19th minute. They played a short corner and the ball ended up at the feet of Tonali. He worked it onto his left boot and powered a shot towards goal but it was easily gathered by Provedel.

In the 29th minute, Zaccagni and Milinković-Savić linked up again but this time, Savic was the provider. He found the Italian with a lovely, weighted cross and the winger attempted a shot on the half volley but it was deflected out for a corner.
Six minutes later, Zaccagni doubled the scoring. Pedro played a through ball to the runner on the right flank. His shot hit the post and Zaccagni was there to convert from close range.
Lazio had a well earned, two goal lead at half time. They completely out-worked and out- classed the Rossoneri.
Milan looked more threatening as the second half commenced as they searched for the goal to pull them back in the game.
Leao came close to tapping in a dinked cross from Saelemaekers but Hysaj did well to force him to kick wide.
Soon after, Kalulu gave away a penalty which Luis Alberto converted to make it 3-0 in I Biancocelesti’s favor.
It’s all too easy for Lazio. Felipe Anderson made it 4-0 on the night from close range after a horrible defensive sequence from the champions.
Rebic had a chance just seconds after entering the pitch but Provedel easily saved it.
Pioli has some serious work to do if he wants to remain in his job. Milan look clueless in the build up and seem to lack quality every time they’re in the final third. Additionally, this was another terrible defensive performance by his team.
On the other hand, Lazio have now won three games on the bounce as they look to cement their place in the top four.
