Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, September 12 at 7:20 pm CT. They played each other during week 7 of the 2020-21 season and the Rams won 24 to 10. Will the Bears actually win this game? or will the Rams beat them like before?
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears have not been having the seasons that they have wanted in the last couple of years. From horrible draft picks to not knowing how to use a player. In addition, the bears have not found their offensive footing yet. The bears got two new quarterbacks this year, one from the draft and one they picked up. They drafted Justin Fields and signed Andy Dalton. Justin Fields was drafted from Ohio State. However, Andy Dalton played the 2020-21 season on the Cowboys. Justin Fields had an amazing preseason, with 276 passing yards and three touchdowns. Andy Dalton had an average preseason and an average 2020-21 season with only 2,170 passing yards in 11 games and 11 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. They still do have their star running back David Montgomery and Allen Robinson II. Both of those players had over 1,000 yards in their respective positions.
The Bears need to start or play Justin Fields early in this game. Andy Dalton is not a winning quarterback and never was. Justin Fields is young and athletic and will be the best shot for the Bears this year. Their defense is going to be fine mainly because they still have the two-star players, Khalil Mack and Roquan Smith. The defense cannot carry them in this game and the offense needs to find ways to score.
Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams had a good season in 2020 and made a good run in the playoffs beating the Seahawks in the wild card but falling short to the Packers in the Divisional round. Jared Goff got traded to the Lions for Matthew Stafford who had over 4,000 passing yards last season. The biggest problem for the Rams last season is the underperformance of their rushing game. Their leading rusher was Cam Akers who only had 625 rushing yards. The Rams traded to get Sony Michel from the Patriots. Michel played several good seasons in New England and is a good addition to an already struggling running game. They still have Aaron Donald who had 13.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss. Their defense did not change too much which is good because their defense had to carry the offense a little.
The Rams truly must figure out their run game this year. However, they also must get Stafford going early and often and make the offense his. Stafford will be the quarterback I think the Rams needed and Goff was not doing enough for them to be able to compete against the better teams. Stafford needs to go back to the days where he was throwing for over 5,000 passing yards. Get him going and this will be an easy game.
Prediction
The Bears will need everyone on the team to be at 100 percent. They need to start Justin Fields or play him early if they want to have a chance against a Rams defensive line. The Rams will have an easy game if they get things started early and have players flying around. Do not have to worry about the defense but will have to wait and see how the offense will be.
My Prediction: Rams win 35 to 10
