We have breaking roster cuts news in the NFL. In an absolute shocker, Cam Newton has been released and Mac Jones is the new starting quarterback in New England. Jones was drafted in the first round from Alabama. He was viewed as many as a backup for at least this year. It was expected that Cam would start in an offense tailor made for him. However, that will not be the case.

But Wait, There’s More

Cam Newton started every preseason game. He was the first QB to get reps in most of the practices. Bill Belicheck has been saying this entire time that Cam will be the starter. Even with the evidence that Jones could run the Pats offense, Cam still seemed like the top option. Even he was feeling sure of himself. However, this is the start of a new era in New England as a rookie quarterback will be under center for the Patriots.

Reports Coming In

According to Adam Beasley, there wasn’t one or two reasons Cam got cut. In fact, there are three reasons why Cam Newton is no longer with the team.

Reason #1 – Mac Jones came out strong and emerged at camp.

Reason #2 – Cam Newton is refusing to get the COVID vaccine. This has caused a lot of chatter behind the scenes.

Reason #3 – Cam had a very “uninspiring” performance this summer.

Furthermore, Mac Jones was turning heads at practice and it camp, and because of all this, the change was made.
