Red Sox Fans Should Be Excited for Masataka Yoshida

Masataka Yoshida is due to return back into the Red Sox lineup in tomorrow’s game against the Pirates.Yoshida was signed by the Red Sox back in December during the Winter Meetings for $90 million over five years. At the time, it was seen by other team executives as a wild overpay. with some executives saying Masataka is “worth less than half of what they paid” according to MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.

After his performance in the WBC, the narrative has certainly shifted on whether or not Yoshida was worth the money. He made a name for himself as a proven hitter after it was speculated if he would be able to adjust to big league hitting.
