On Oct. 29, after their matchup, Michigan State players were filmed fighting with members of their in-state rivals, the Wolverines. In fact, two separate clashes were recorded in the tunnels of the stadiums between the two. However, the incidents were indicative of Michigan State, as both instances displayed groups of Spartans against a singular Wolverine. Now, nearly a month after the events, Michigan State players are being charged.

Seven Michigan State Players Charged

As previously mentioned in our coverage, the police were looking into the altercations immediately following the incidents. Now, six of the seven players are facing misdemeanors. However, one Khary Crump is facing a felony count for his contributions to the assault. Interestingly enough, no Michigan Wolverines players are facing charges. However, the initial reaction to the fights led many to believe that the representatives of Big Blue were the ones to start the quarrel. But the Spartans overstepped the boundaries with the disproportionate brawl. Of note, it was the second incident in as many weeks involving post-game altercations for Michigan. This is why it was not farfetched to fathom the Wolverines started the event in some fashion.

In conclusion, Michigan is getting the last laugh as they have bested their rivals, Ohio State and Michigan State. Additionally, the stock for the Wolverines is at an all-time high. On top of the fact that none of their players nor staff are facing charges, it is clear that the higher road was taken by Jim Harbaugh and company. Lastly, in addition to the charges their players are facing, separate controversies are brewing for the Spartans. Mel Tucker is currently facing scrutiny for his reported actions as of lately as well. Things are not looking good for the Spartans program, and they will certainly be one to watch as the season closes.
